M. C. Williams was 1 out of 16 Houston area middle schools selected to participate in the Schlumberger Sea Turtle Challenge. This is a competitive project which incorporates art, technology, communications, math, science, and engineering while it promotes team unity among school feeder patterns. The program utilizes hand-on activities and real-world experiences by integrating project based learning. The components of the project include: Robotics – building/constructing a robot that will compete with other schools; web design; mural creation; art sculpture; creative writing project; and extensive research in marine biology, specifically focusing on the life cycle, as well as the possible extinction of sea turtles. Our students are excited about the project and have diligently prepared for the challenge.
